NLP is the science of understanding how people organize their thoughts, emotions, language and behavior to produce the results they do. NLP provides you with a methodology to model outstanding performances achieved by geniuses and leaders in their fields.
A key element in NLP is that you form your unique internal mental map of the world as a product of the way you filter and perceive information absorbed through your five senses from the world around you.
Neuro : Each of you has established your unique mental filtering system for processing the millions of bits of data being absorbed through your senses. Your first mental map of the world is constituted of internal images, sounds, tactile awareness, tastes and smells that form as a result of your neurological filtering process. This first mental map is called as "First Access" in NLP.
Linguistic : Each of you then assigns a personal meaning to the information being received from the world outside. You form your second mental map by assigning language to the "First Access" thus forming your everyday conscious awareness. This second mental map is called the "Linguistic Map" (sometimes known as Linguistic Representation).
Programming : The habitual (programmed) behavioral response that occurs as a result of neurological filtering process and the subsequent linguistic map is known as programming.
